Concrete Formwork

Formwork for reinforced concrete of all varieties: beams, columns, slabs, foundations, roofs…become a significant part of the construction costs. Usually, they are made from sawn pinewood or plywood.
After the concrete hardening, the purpose designed-to-measure-formwork is dismounted. Only some large parts may be recycled, the rest is usually scrapped.

Bamboo slats can replace much of this rather expensive formwork. If the slat sides are sawn in parallel with two circular saws spaced at a fixed fixed distance, it's possible to get a standard slat width and then a fairly tight form-work. If joints are leaking cement slurry, a strong paper or plastic lining inside the form can prevent it.
