Roof covering materials--------WIP=Work In Progress
The most common nowadays is some variety of planar elements:
- Galvanized – corrugated
- Coated-metal-corrosion-protected
- Aluminium alloys
- Tar-paper glued on board
- Tile roofs
Double curved roofs
Double curved roofs cannot be covered with planar materials, except with shingles.
With a 3D-CAD like Rhino you create intuitively two different curves and make a “loft” in between them.
To secure the rain-proof cover you probably need some sort of bitumen material - or Grass!! --- If exploring new horizons, check out the WIP tag and Natural Rubber!

Sometimes the roof shape is important for the cultural integration.

This structure can actually be built with rectilinear elements, but the surface is still double curved!
